Found footage video of a web sex worker stuck in a quicksand pod. According to cliches people who work in the field of pornography and sexual self-objectification are doing so because they are forced by life events. The common idea is that being a sex worker is not a deliberate choice but a compromise or a forced alternative; people are stuck and forced to use their bodies for other people’s amuse- ment.
But what if not?
Using a weeping Instagram filter on top of this found footage tape the aim is to underline, with an ironic and grotesque attitude, the incorrectness of this interpretation. Not only the sex worker is not necessarily forced to make this life choice but is not the only one who may be stuck. Pornography addiction and seeking sexual satisfaction in digital surrogates is an equally problematic condition.
