the lights we’ve used to find each other
2026

Video with audio projection
Variable dimensions - Loop
Durata: 7’ 00’’ - average time of a smoke

The lights we've used to find each other is a moving images project that blends found footage with authorial recordings.
The video, which lasts as long as it takes to smoke a cigarette, aims to emotionally speculate on desire as something that can both enlighten an existence and limit our own possibilities of imagining a different life.
Taking the burning element of a cigarette as an ephemeral source of light, power, agency, or chosen self-harm, the project speaks about the encounters and temporary lights I've come across lately. What emerged is a repetitive stream of fires that can sparkle, in an attempt to find a way to survive, in the many and open declinations of what living means.
